Walk along Nizami Street, a lively road named after the famous Persian poet Nizami Ganjavi. Explore Baku’s lively shops, cosy cafes, and famous sights for an exciting adventure!
Start at Fountain Square, a lovely plaza with beautiful fountains. Then, visit Upland Park for stunning views of Baku’s skyline and the Caspian Sea. Afterwards, return to your hotel for a good night’s rest. Overnight in Baku.
Day 02: Baku City Tour
Begin the day with a good hearty breakfast, then proceed to a day of city exploration. The tour can start with the Old City, or Icherisheher, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and serves as the historical core of Baku. Ancient City Walls, the Maiden Tower—a mysterious, cylindrical 12th-century fortress—and the Palace of Shirvanshah, a massive, 15th-century palace complex that was the seat of power of the Shirvanshahs dynasty. These are the main attractions for exploring old Baku, which can be observed in all their wealth within the narrow alleys and in the ancient buildings of this old quarter. Then head to the Miniature Book Museum, which features interesting miniature books worldwide and showcases the art of miniature bookmaking.
Further on is the Juma Mosque, a sacred place for Islam in the city. The Baku Boulevard, laid down in 1909, which runs parallel to the Caspian Sea, reflects how the city changed from an oil town to a modern metropolis. Conclude your day at Little Venice, an oasis of calm with its canals and gondola rides. It provides a serene getaway from the city’s bustle. Return to your hotel for an evening wind-down.
Day 03: Shahdag Tour
Have a healthy breakfast before a busy day in the Shahdag region. First, visit the Candy Cane Mountains, famous for their striped rock formations standing out so vividly against the landscape. Next, visit the Shahdag Summer-Winter Complex, the most elite resort, open throughout the year. Ride a cable car that passes over a scenic mountainous landscape. The resort welcomes guests year-round with various outdoor activities. Enjoy exploring and engaging in seasonal pursuits. After dinner, we returned to Baku, reflecting on our adventures in the beautiful surroundings.
Day 04: Absheron Tour
Start your day with a tasty breakfast and then go on the Absheron tour. First, visit the Ateshgah Temple, an ancient fire temple in Surakhany, 30 km from Baku. This place has been sacred for Zoroastrians, Hindus, and Sikhs, as the eternal flame is a symbol of the spiritual significance of fire. The temple has a rich history spans many centuries and is important in various religious traditions. Visit Yanar Dag, the Burning Mountain, where natural gas lights up spontaneously, creating amazing flames that fascinate visitors! After that, end your tour at the Heydar Aliyev Center, a stunning building designed by Zaha Hadid. This centre was completed in 2012, and its curved lines represent Baku’s modern architecture. It also hosts cultural events. Finally, return to your hotel for a restful evening.
Day 05: Qobustan Tour
Start with a hearty breakfast and head out for a day of discovery into the historical and natural treasures of Qobustan. Visit Gobustan State Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with ancient rock carvings. These petroglyphs, dated 5,000 to 20,000 years ago, include prehistoric life scenes such as hunting, rituals, and celestial phenomena. This site gives excellent insight into the early people of Azerbaijan. Next, it is the turn of the extraordinary mud volcanoes of Azerbaijan, among the most numerous in the world. These volcanic formations create a strange landscape with bubbling mud and steam. Finally, visit the Bibi-Heybat Mosque. This mosque is a prominent religious and historical site near the world’s first mechanically drilled oil well, which reflects Azerbaijan’s historical ties with the oil industry. You should return to Baku in the evening and spend it reminiscing about your journey’s interesting impressions.
